Aspenwood/AB are pretty much the same thing. I'll take Aspenwood anyday though. AB just feels like a running competition.

I've taken a liking to this,
[skill]Burning Arrow[/skill][skill]Screaming shot[/skill][skill]Pin Down[/skill][skill]Apply Poison[/skill][skill]Natural Stride[/skill][skill]Lightning Reflexes[/skill][skill]Whirling Defense[/skill][skill]Troll Unguent[/skill]

[skill]Burning Arrow[/skill][skill]Savage Shot[/skill][skill]Distracting Shot[/skill][skill]Apply Poison[/skill][skill]Hunter's Shot[/skill][skill]Pin Down[/skill][skill]Troll Unguent[/skill][skill]Mending Touch[/skill]
Apply Poison + Pin Down(cripple and poison) + hunters shot(bleeding) + burning arrow(burning) + Apply Poison + Burning Arrow + Pin Down and so on. Distracting shot and savage shot to pee off your foes even more... Especially heal sig warriors.
Completely offensive build that can take down any melee class and majority of the time any caster. Key to success is using your skills when needed and kiting.

Ill agree with the R/A builds for AB. Ive found AB is the place where Expertise assassins can really do damage.
Best idea is to get some lead and offhand ( or exausting assault ) that has a low recharge time and then follow up with the good ol: [skill]Moebius strike[/skill] [skill]Death blossom[/skill] combo and watch as tons of 40's all pop up on your screen at once. At 13 expertise these skills only cost 2 energy, so you can spam it for as long as you can stay alive ( or in most cases, untill your target dies )
Theres also quite a few blinders running around, so bringing [skill]Apply poison[/skill] for extra damage and following up with [skill]signet of malice[/skill] is a good idea too.
Also, the burning arrow build works well in AB.
Full out beast master with heal as one and a bunch of pet attacks isnt the best but its fun.

[skill]archer's signet[/skill] is in the expertise line. Its a fairly weak elite that requires high expertise for it to be any good. Thing is, if you have high expertise your bow attacks wont cost much anyways and its a waste of an elite.
[skill]Prepared shot[/skill] Lets you skimp on expertise and put 15~16 points in marks, giving you 9-10 energy gain whenever you fire it off.

I don't see the attraction to Expertise Assassins in AB. If you don't at least put some thought into how you'll counter Assassins in AB you are a complete idiot. They are extremely common and probably the most dangerous of enemies you'll meet in it.
Specially with Shadow Prison been so overused and unbalanced, you can't rely on running off with that Snare been used by every other idiot. Qwerty spikes are so boring, but luckily extremely obvious.
Oh and also as i finalized a few days ago, the majority of people who play Assassins and Warriors in AB are complete and utter morons. Don't believe me? Take a Curses necro with Insideous Parasite and Enfeeble, i lost count of the amount of times 'i' killed Warriors and Assassins with those 2 skills, i even had some using Endure Pain to let me steal another 200 health from them before they suicided!
Oh, Wail of Doom is great fun to piss assassins off btw, they literally can't stop you ^^
*gets a bus back from the edge of the Tangent* Anyway, my point is Assassins are often thought of primarily when it comes to counters (them and MMs), so your gonna get caught in the anti-assassins crossfire.

Basically I don't AB much. But when I just bring the normal Burning Apply bar. I like it because of the versatility, and as evilsod said you have to have a way to deal with those boa sins. Natural Stride + mending touch works very, very well against them.
burning arrow, d shot, savage, pin down, apply, stride, mending touch, rez
That's the bar I run.

Which is exactly what makes it a fun choice to play. Let the nubs rush in, get owned by the necro/mesmer, and then rush the necro from the side and kill him before his hexes recharge. The trick is to see the nubs on my team who rush into a crowd and attack through parasite to be cannon fodder instead of a useless annoyance.
Playing Melee when the metagame is anti melee is only hard if your a nubcake who doesnt pay attention to the status bar and doesnt automatically assume that everyone that can be anti melee is. THats how I get by. WHen I see a necro in AB - I assume spoil victor, parasite, feintheartedness. When I see a mesmer I assume Degen+empathy. When I see an air ele, I assume blinding flash. So I play accordingly and run around on the sides. If I ever do get hexed with something major, I start running off to a differant cap point....by the time I get there its gone.
Its how you play the build that matters.

I guess... but its still better to just go Assassin imo. Thumpers did have advantages over Hammer Warriors. I can't really see how a simple basic combo can out-damage. out-pressure or out-annoy an actual assassin.
You just leave yourself prey to anything that counters melee and combo based attacks. My last Necro build for AB would counter a real assassin with Insideous/Wail of Doom and they'd probably bugger off (or suicide), could quite easily stop you with Enfeeble and a Restful Breeze. Just doesn't have the potential a real assassin has, no shadow steps which means Cripshot/Grenths will make you useless. The Signet isn't that great if you can't reach someone to apply the conditions.
SV is a poor anti-assassin measure imo. Basically ends up with both of you dieing (or him and his target). It makes the assassin a Kamikaze, doesn't really counter him since ABers can just walk back into the fray with no dp.

I think its pretty obvious at this point that I would have to post a video of how i use that build in AB.

Either this:
[skill]Burning Arrow[/skill][skill]Forked Arrow[/skill][skill]Savage Shot[/skill][skill]Ignite Arrows[/skill][skill]Troll Unguent[/skill][skill]Whirling Defense[/skill][skill]Mending Touch[/skill][skill]Natural Stride[/skill]
Or Cripshot
Ignite Arrows works great vs the overload of MM's

Touch ranger of course. When I AB I am drinking. When I am drinking my reflexes and coordination tend to fall off. Touch ranger requires no reflexes or coordination, lol. It really does well in the complete chaos that is AB. Sins are not a problem at all, plague touching them back with all the crap they just gave you is so so funny.

I like to use the typical cripshot apply most of the time.
Sometimes I'll go full pet though and do an Enraged Lunge build (symbiotic bond, predatory bond, etc etc) with troll unguent. I'll always keep troll up and watch my pet hit for 100 dmg every enraged lunge, lol. It's really nice to catch people off guard and even better when they switch their target to my pet and notice they're doing next to no damage to it.
And I guess barrage is a regular build too.

I usually use some thing like the following, which although isnt highly effective on Warriors it works wonders on spell casters.
[skill]Broad Head Arrow[/skill][skill]Read the Wind[/skill][skill]Throw Dirt[/skill][skill]Hunter's Shot[/skill][skill]Whirling Defense[/skill][skill]Troll Unguent[/skill][skill]Comfort animal[/skill][skill]Charm animal[/skill]
The Pet come in handy to keep triggering the interupt from Dazed more often and Hunters shot is cheap and handy to help finish of that attempting to Escape target.
or
[skill]Archer's Signet[/skill][skill]Concussion Shot[/skill][skill]Penetrating Attack[/skill][skill]Pin Down[/skill][skill]Read the Wind[/skill][skill]Lightning Reflexes[/skill][skill]Whirling Defense[/skill][skill]Troll Unguent[/skill]
Pin down makes sure they cant Run, Archers signet allows for multiple concussion shots and pin downs. Read the Wind keeps the arrow hitting there targets faster.
On occassion i will change to some thing different such as a Melandrus Arrows degen Build with Pet support or a Melandrus shot Spike Build
